We help refugees. This is what we offer them:

Our help is free and voluntary.

We work independently of the state and the government.

Psychotherapy

At the psz neu-ulm we help refugees who have experienced terrible situations in their lives. Many people suffer from various problems as a result. These problems include:

  • Difficulties sleeping
  • Painful memories of the past
  • Problems with studying and concentration
  • High stress level

The bad experiences can also lead to physical pain.

These problems usually don’t disappear on their own. We can help. In therapy, we look for solutions together.

Our clients decide for themselves what they want to talk about. We share our experiences and tell them what has already helped others. We try out exercises together. We are also open to new ideas and learn from our clients.

The aim of the psychoherapy is to feel more secure and strong again. We help our clients so that they can regain control of their lives.

Counseling

Refugees face many problems after arriving in germany:

  • They don’t understand the language.
  • They don’t know their way around and therefore don’t know where to go with a problem.
  • They are confronted with long waiting times at authorities.
  • They are worried about their future because it is often unclear for a long time whether they will be allowed to stay in Germany.

Those who have many problems cannot recover from traumatic experiences. Many refugees are therefore even worse off after arriving in germany.

In psz neu-ulm we help refugees so that they can cope with their new lives.

We give advise on the following topics:

  • Learning the language
  • Finding work
  • Education and apprenticeship
  • Asylum procedure
  • Financial security
  • Medical care

If we don’t know what to do, we bring our clients together with other organizations.

The aim of counseling is to improve the living conditions of our clients. In doing so, we aim to strengthen their mental health.

Counseling for residents of the AnkER-Camps

We offer appointments for residents of the AnkER-Camps in Neu-Ulm and Günzburg. They can come to us if they want help with mental health problems.

We also write reports for the residents. In the reports we explain why the person is unwell and what they need to get better soon. The reports can be submitted to authorities, lawyers and social workers.

The aim is to ensure that people’s specific need for protection is recognized. In this way, we want to strengthen the rights of these people in the asylum procedure and in accommodation.

Group therapy

In addition to counseling and therapy, we also offer group sessions at psz neu-ulm. The groups are organized and carried out by our staff. An interpreter is often present. People with similar topics such as:

  • Sleeping
  • Dealing with thoughts and feelings
  • Raising kids

can join the group sessions. There is also the opportunity to meet new people and make friends. Participants can share personal experiences or just listen. We try out exercises together.

The aim of the group sessions is to learn from each other and regain hope and courage.
